Ideas needed to fund new Surgical Skills Training Centre

The Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital is the only specialist hospital in Southern Africa dedicated entirely to children. The hospital manages 250 000 patient visits annually. 98% are from marginalised communities and a third are under a year old. It is often the only place where Africa’s sickest, most needy children can receive life-saving specialist treatment.

Currently there are no endoscopic surgical training centres in sub-Saharan Africa. The Surgical Skills Training Centre will accommodate training of surgeons in minimally invasive surgery, for both adults and paediatric patients. If you have a Super Fundraising Idea to help the hospital raise funds towards the R13 million Surgical Skills Training Centre needed, we want to hear from you. Your idea might just make front page news and more!
