MyCiTi turns one

The 27th May 2012 marked the first anniversary of one of Cape Town’s biggest capital investments – The MyCITI bus system. MyCiTi was implemented to improve the public transport system for both residents and visitors within Cape Town. This past Sunday, many citizens around the Mother City, experienced the friendly and efficient services of the MyCiTi bus system for free. Here’s what some of them had to say:

Sue Carstens, a MyCiTi bus user says, “The service is very convenient, safe and affordable.” Sharne Vermeulen, one of the promoters of the MyCiTi anniversary says, “It was my first time experiencing the MyCiTi bus system, with great scenery along the route and the response of the public, it made my day very exciting.”
Charles Ganger, a MyCiTi bus driver says, “I’ve been working for the MyCiTi for over two years, today was the busiest.”
Jean Prichard, a MyCiTi bus user says “I usually take the bus to town from Big Bay, to go do my shopping. I’ve decided today to take the opportunity provided by the MyCiTi anniversary, to go do some site seeing.”

If you’ve got something to say about your MyCiti experience, tell us on www.supernews.co.za
