Bonita G (Gorrie-Nuttall) from Carte Blanche and The G-Rebellion, along with her team mates Brad Shorkend and Ian Edwards from the African Heroes Trust will join sporting legend Martina Navratilova and other sporting greats up the 5,895 metres mountain to raise funds for the UK based Laureus Sport For Good Foundation Trust SA and the 12 Projects it supports from 3-14 December 2010.
Bonita and The African Heroes Trust team are starting their accent today 6 December 2010, with the aim of specifically raising funds for the 12 South African Laureus-projects.
Using sport as a tool for social change, these projects are aimed at developing leadership qualities, life skills, creating awareness around HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, and ultimately to create a positive, brighter future for the youth of South Africa. “Sport has the power to change the world”, says SA’s own Laureus Patron: Nelson Mandela.
The team’s goal is to raise R100,000. You can help by SMS’ing ‘FOOTSTEP’ to 42116 to buy a footstep. (SMS’s charged at R30)
