Megan and Samantha Jensen, two American volunteers, are together with Equal Education (a community and membership-based organisation), working towards creating equal education for every person in South Africa. Supernews was there to cover the opening of Kayamandi High School’s first library and reading room on August 2nd.
Ninety-two percent of public schools still need a library. Equal Education is campaigning for one library and one librarian in every school in South Africa.
As a part of the campaign, The Bookery collects books from generous donors. Please drop off books you no longer need to the Bookery situated at 20 Roeland Street, Cape Town. You can also buy a book in someone’s name as a birthday gift.
