Our idea creates a game change in education.
The game which we have in mind is a game which simulates real life paths of individuals looking for success within various careers. The game shall be integrated with a website which will have an access portal to bursaries; scholarships; learnerships and projects. At the same time the website shall be a blog domain where people can create their own blogs, and download music from both discovered and undiscovered artists. Thus our idea is a combination of a website and a game and will be interlinked with some of the competitions which shall too be run on it.
It works in a very simple manner: An individual signs up their information and we ask that they supply us with their latest, accurate education qualifications as well as their ideal career. The information they will supply us shall include mobile number and email address. Upon completion of sign up, we send them (via email; facebook inbox; mxit inbox or sms) real life advice on what bursary opportunities they qualify for in relation to their preferred career choice based on the results they have acquired. In a case where they do not meet any requirements for any of the listed bursaries, we advise them what to do in order to receive one. At this point this is where the game character can get very interesting as an individual can assign their avatar on the game to go through those steps and they act out the best case scenario, following our advice.
Interested parties will be advised where to acquire bursary forms, and programs on the game will be designed to allow individuals to become more familiar with their dream career(s). These individuals will also have access to many opportunities which they can take advantage of.
Artistic individuals whether visually or audibly can have a chance to showcase their talents on our website whilst pictures on the life of an avatar (which are blogged), are viewable at an art gallery within their city for example. Another example would be for those who are musicians, switching on a radio station as an avatar and hearing a song they actually made, whilst other avatars can hear those songs by scanning through various radio stations.
Since this is a game at the end of the day, we have set aside provision for leisure where an avatar can go to the arcade and get to play board games which do not have to be originally made by us, but simply other games which we would pay royalties to integrate within our game. In future this space will be lovely for introducing lovely games for people to enjoy as avatars and get to stimulate their minds, as well as quizzes which can help individuals win prizes and gain points.
This is the ideal game to help people who may have thought they did not have a chance to study, (as education is very expensive in South Africa), which aims to teach people about various careers options so they can choose careers where they understand the background sufficiently enough to make the best decision.
This game forces people to think ahead and see what the future may have in store for them. Another lovely factor is that the game is so interactive that one can even record actual life achievements on this game to remind themselves of the road they have travelled as well as to gain more avatar benefits. By promoting blogging we encourage individuals to let their opinions; experiences and talents be displayed for the world to learn.
The game will not be heavy on graphics as it has to accommodate various devices, though the version of the game designed for Mxit EVO PC can have better graphics than the mobile version.
The game is not only focused on academics, but gives hope to those who may have lost it. It’s also an exposure platform for artists and a place for them to gain inspiration and meet one another. It can also track a lot of data about where South Africa can improve on the academics side of things.
This is the way to the future: interactive, fun, educational and creativity all in one location.
