With Christmas around the corner, we want you to help us identify gifts that keep on giving, as well as the innovative organisations behind these creative gift ideas.
For example, did you know that you can buy a tree or two in someone’s name and Greenpop, a tree planting initiative, will plant them at a deserving school. (The recipient even gets a digital certificate with GPS co-ordinates just in case they’d like to visit their tree). You could also donate a book or ten to The Bookery and help stock a school library. And BEN (Bicycling Empowerment Network), is appealing to ordinary citizens to donate their old/unused bikes for its Inaugural Christmas Bike Drive.
You barely have to think for yourself, and the only finger you have to lift is the one to move your mouse around your screen (for the most part). No wondering what to get the person who has everything and no long queues. Plus you get to put a smile on two faces, the person you love (we hope!) and the beneficiary you don’t even know.
We’d like to know what initiatives are out there.
Have you given a gift like this, if so, what was the reaction like?
Do you know if the recipient stayed loyal to the cause?
If your story gets the most views, we’ll support your cause!
